A CALGARY INTERIOR DESIGNER AT HEART

Ever since childhood, Cat has been interested in interior design and decorating; arranging furniture, painting walls and re-decorating her own rooms. Growing up in Finland, she is inspired by simplicity, but with a major focus on functionality. "I am guided naturally by practicality," says Cat. I like Scandinavian design and the use of white in the home, it is calming (I love colour too). I am not a minimalist, but I try to encourage clients to de-clutter by getting rid of things not in use, and especially things you don't really like."

Cat is a certified interior decorator (CID) and a certified Interior Refiner, trained by Lauri Ward, founder of Use What You Have Interiors® in New York.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT A TWO HOUR In home INTERIOR DECORATING CONSULTATION
At this collaborative consultation we will:

determine your needs, i.e. what you like, how you use each room we are working on (entertaining, working etc.) and what you hope to achieve;
discuss and recommend improvements to your home/rooms including paint, window treatments, lighting, floor, furniture and accessories;
identify the ten most common decorating mistakes so you can learn and be mindful of them in the future;
if feasible, move furniture and refine the use of your accessories;
develop a to-do plan going forward or
if you want to implement the improvements yourself, you should take notes to help you when time and finances permit.
